KFE for Wordpress is Finally "Official"
After ages of distributing Kimili Flash Embed for Wordpress solely through this site, I’ve finally gotten around to adding Kimili Flash Embed to the official Wordpress plugin repository. For you, the biggest advantage of this is that you get automatically notified of any newer versions of the plugin as they become available so long as you’re using WP 2.3 or newer. For me, it simply makes me feel a bit better about the plugin’s existence and gives me another reason to do an update to it sooner or later (really!)
Here are a few related links you may find useful:
- Wordpress Plugin Repository
- Kimili Flash Embed’s listing in the repository
- KFE Support on Wordpress Forums (I’ll keep an eye on this)
One other thing—If you like KFE and you’re feeling generous, you can always buy me a beer.

Tom, what other plugins do you have running alongside KFE?

I have too many plugins to list quickly (about 20). I will try deactivating them all, and then just activate Kimili. Then I’ll activate the others one by one and try to spot at what point the “Part I” text appears.
Do you know if Kimili isn’t compatible with any specific plugins?

Any incompatibilities that I’m aware of have been taken care of as far as I know. There are just too many plugins available—1,912 in the Wordpress repository as of this writing and growing all the time—to be able to test all possible combinations. As a result, I depend bug reports from users to help fix things, especially when users can identify specific conflicts they’ve run into.
If you do find something, please report it here. Your specific problem is a new one to me, and I don’t think KFE is the one specifically rewriting your title element, as it doesn’t target that element at all.

Hi Michael, I have been trying to get this plugin to work for a friend but cannot. I am not very experienced with wordpress but I read the “read me”, and all relative supporting documentation on your site and I am still not able to have my flash movie display at all on the site. I found that the installation section on the read me did not cover the correct tags to use for the embed code – it says
“Installing the plugin is as easy as unzipping and uploading the entire kimili-flash-embed folder into your wp-content/plugins directory and activating the plugin. You can deactivate and delete any old versions of KFE you may have.”
why not put step by step installation instructions right there? Would be helpful.. email me if I am missing something. Thank you sir.

Jaydoh – The basic syntax for a KFE tag is really simple and outlined here.

Hey Michael,
Thanks for your plugin… I am having a little trouble getting things started. What isn’t clear to me is why the embedded software controls that exist on my player do not show up when the video is embedded in the blog. See http://www.lifesongvideoproductions.com/blog for an example of what I am talking about….. Does the control overlay file have to be listed in the flashvar’s in someway… thanks for any help or direction you can give me…. a list or look at examples as well as flash files required would be greatly appreciated…..

Hi There,
I love your plugin! However, i’d like to have the background of my site be a flash movie in a loop – and I can’t seem to get it to display behind all my content.
Thanks again!

I love this plugin, but it doesn’t seem to be compatible with WP 2.5. It adds the words “Part I” in my header, for some crazy reason.
